Iran anniversary 'punch' will stun West: Khamenei
Feb 8 02:19 PM US/Eastern Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran is set to deliver a "punch" that will stun world powers during this week's 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution. "The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman (February 11) in a way that will leave them stunned," Khamenei, who is also Iran's commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air force personnel. More What do you guys think?  |

I think it's nothing. Muslims don't broadcast their attacks. Typical Iranian bluster. Worry about what they don't tell us rather than their big threats.

It's not much more, I suspect, than tyrant hyperbole and saber rattling to distract the world from the foaming unrest in Iran and Ahmedinijhad's quest for nuclear arms. A dozen nuclear-armed nations are waiting to pounce on this madman should his "punch" against the west threaten the world, including Israel and Iran's regional Arab neighbors. I doubt it is much more than a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Could this have been a "test run" to probe foreign ministries' ability to repel nationwide attacks by Iranian military or terrorists (perhaps one and the same) in coordinated attacks on Western facilities ahead of 2/11?
